This Policy establishes how the WiFi Quality Institute identifies, discloses, assesses and manages conflicts of interest while safeguarding independent technical and governance judgement. Approved edition: version 1.0, dated 14 October 2026.
All rights reserved.
This governance policy defines how WQI addresses actual, potential and perceived conflicts of interest. It sets out disclosure responsibilities, proportionate risk assessment, safeguards for review and decision-making, and recusal procedures where a material conflict could compromise credible judgement.
The Policy recognises the Institute's current institutional structure, including its coordination and commercial relationships with WiFiCert, San Giorgio Holding Ltd, Aerialcom Ltd and Etruriacom Srl. It distinguishes the legal identities of connected organisations from genuinely independent review and records the governance status of the Steering Committee envisaged in the Founding Charter.
It also addresses the responsibilities of authors, reviewers and technical contributors, internal conflict and decision records, appropriate public disclosure, confidentiality, corrective action and periodic review. Commercial experience or other interests are not treated as automatic grounds for disqualification; the relevant question is whether the particular judgement remains independent and credible.
